  • “Thanks for the great product. I just finished installing a GTA Car Kit for my 2007 Prius and the sound is great! I had been trying to listen to my iPod 5 through a radio frequency–this is SO much better. I listen to music, lectures/iTunes U and audio books on my iPod, but could really only listen to music on the radio frequency adapter. Now I can listen to/hear them all clearly.

The customer service was great. I emailed a few questions about connections for an iPod 5 and the product and I got a timely response back. BTW–you can use your iPod 5 with the kit, but you need an official Apple 30 pin to flash plug adapter to connect it to the car kit cable (I found mine at Target). Ordering the kit was easy and shipping was fast.

Installing it was a little trickier for me than the video showed (he makes it seem so effortless), which was a little frustrating at first. After checking some other youtube videos on “radio installation” I realized that the car parts I needed to remove were just really tight and stiff. After a lot of wiggling, pulling and patience I did get them all out as shown on the video–with two exceptions. One is that the “screw” that is missing (we don’t see it in the video) is not really a screw (in the 2007 Prius anyway)–it’s like a plastic rivet. I had to pry it out using a flathead screwdriver, scratching and bending it a bit in the process. The second part was removing the part with the screen/buttons–I wiggled and pulled and pulled and pulled, I finally had to get my husband to pull it off for me; his hand strength is much better than mine–but being generous he said it was just getting the right angle. Putting it all back together was simple and quick.

Tip: I had my iPad with me so I could watch step-by-step, which was very helpful. All together is took me about 2 hours–however that did include drilling a hole in the little space under the radio. That was a great tip from the video–it stores away nicely and it easy to access.

I am really happy with the product, all-in-all it was pretty simple to install, and that coming from a 50 year old teacher/mom. I’m excited to be listening to audio books clearly on my upcoming 2000 ml. car trip!”

  • “I first heard about GTA Car Kits through a quick google search.

I tried FM Modulators in the past but the sound wasn’t full and the volume capacity was low. Once my casette deck broke in my car, I knew I had to try something new out (as I cannot stand 85% of the music they play on the radio). I never even wanted to try going down the wireless FM transmitters because I heard enough to know they don’t work well. GTA Car Kits was specialized for my model, so I felt it would work best because it wasn’t mass produced as a one size fits all sort of thing.

The shipping was super fast – 3 days.

Installation took about 2 hours from start to finish. No extra tools were needed. I just wrapped a screwdriver up with electrical tape to pry off the panels in a safe manner.

I use my TomTom Go 910 GPS with AUX. I ran the cables under my steering wheel behind a few panels.

The price for the GTA car kit was basically the same for a modulator, and a modulator doesn’t work well in all cars, especially those with their attenna on the back windshield. GTA Car Kit was a specialized product made specifically for car makes and models. Even the size and shape of the product fits well in my car.

  • “My daughter wanted a GTA kit for her birthday. After looking at the web site, I purchased two kits; one for her and one for my car, an ’03 Highlander.

I found both units installed exactly like the videos on the GTA web site.

My Highlander has an add-on Sirius receiver. Back in the early days Sirius offered lifetime service at a reasonable price so I signed up. With no “aux” input on my car stereo, I’ve always had to use the fm transmitter. I’ve never been happy with this setup, as there has always been a reception problem caused by rf interference.

I installed the kit in the Highlander and connected the aux connection to the line out on the Sirius unit. Of course I also installed the ipod/iphone connector. I have to tell you that I am ecstatic about NO MORE STATIC on satellite!!!! The GTA unit works flawlessly with my Sirius receiver. It also works flawlessly with my older model ipod nano. My only complaint is that my 03 radio does not have a text display. (Yea I know, all my stuff is old!)

I am 100% satisfied with my purchase and I highly recommend this product. I only wish that I had learned of these units several years ago.

By the way, my daughter’s unit (2006 Corolla) also works flawlessly with her iphone.

  • “I literally drove out to Vaughan to pick up my GTA Car Kit right after registering my 2005 RX-8 at the MTO.

I installed it myself in about 30min. The kit works perfectly.

This video was extremely helpful. He’s not joking when he says be careful not to drop the bolt in the back. Dropped mine while putting the radio back together and I’m pretty sure it vanished into a blackhole inside my dash. Put it back together without and it seems secure.

I would recommend this to anybody with this car.”

  • “I found GTA Car Kit from various forums stumbled upon on Google. I was looking for an ideal solution for playing and controlling my music through my car stereo and GTA Car Kits was brought up several times.

For the longest time, I had been using a combination of iPhone charging cords and auxiliary cables. I had gone through three auxiliary cables in the past year (they kept breaking) and eventually the frustration of getting new ones urged me to research on other possible solutions. I had considered FM transmitters, but was concerned about how well it would work in the city.

I couldn’t wait for shipping, so I picked it up directly from GTA Car Kits office in Vaughan.

The whole process took me an hour but only because the bolts on my car were screwed on very tightly and I had to hold the socket wrench in a very awkward position. Hooking up the kit itself only took all of 5 minutes. If I didn’t count the time it took me to loosen the bolts, I’d say dismantling the dash, hooking up the kit and reinstalling the dash panels took me 15 minutes. I’m a total car noob (I only just learnt how to change my wiper fluid!) so installing the kit was such an achievement. The installation video helped a lot and gave me an idea of what to expect.

I am currently using the car kit with an iPhone 4 and 5. Most of the Car Kit’s cable is hidden in the space behind and below the car radio, and comes out from the panel in the storage space below the AC controls (see attached pic).

I really like being able to control my music through my car controls. Also, the cord seems to be of good quality. Doubt it’d be wearing off on me any time soon.

Amazing price for an excellent product and is very highly recommended!”

  • “Installed the kit in a 2003 Honda Civic. Took about 1 week to receive the kit from the time we paid for it.

Viewed this video a couple of times with my son so we would be familiar with the process. Took about 1 hour to complete the installation and we drilled a hole in the back of the storage compartment for the iPOD cable. iPOD functionality is somewhat limited but it still works great & maintains the look & integrity of the stock dashboard.

Using iPHONE 4, iPOD touch & iPOD Classic. All work.”

  • Found your through Google Search. Before that I inquired about several devices, but GTA offered the clearest explanation of their device. The deal-clincher was the installation video.

Both of my orders were filled much sooner than I expected. They arrived in days with your standard shipping.

Installations in both my 2004 Toyota 4Runner and my 2007 Toyota Sequoia were very simple. The 4Runner required a little more time for radio removal, but the entire installation took me less than 30 minutes. The Sequoia was the second one I did and took about 15 minutes, start to finish. Neither one required anything additional or any new tools.

I used the iPod cable with both the 4Runner and Sequoia. It worked my iPod Touch 4G perfectly. Sound was great and being able to change tracks with the radio controls was a major convenience. The Sequoia has factory steering wheel controls and they work perfectly with the GTA, without any additional installation or parts.

I really like the fact that kit works! Plus, ease of installation and great sound.

Great value, and I would definitely recommend it. Not often do I get something that works as advertised. The GTA kit does.

    • “I heard about GTA Car Kits from a friend. Before that I did not look or consider other Ipod integration systems.

      The shipping was very quick..

The installation was real easy, simple to follow instructions took about 5mins and the video was a great help.

I use either an Ipod or a smart phone and i have the cables just in the glove box.

The best feature is being able to switch between devices easy and changing through playlist is pretty nice.

I would recommend this to a friend, and it was a good value.”
