The folks at GTA are amazing walked me through the process as I had questions. The unit works flawlessly. I have a 2014 Cayman S. We recently drove the Smokies and Tail of The Dragon ,from maps to music it worked great.

I installed the GTA Carplay kit and backup camera on my 2014 Boxster S with PCM 3.1 with Bose and XM. It all works great and brings the PCM into the modern age with CarPlay and all the features that brings! 🙂 The kit was qood quality and the customer support when I had a few questions was fast and very helpful! I did find a couple things during my install that I will pass on in case they may help others: (1) In the GTA video at 10:15, they show the ribbon cables being passed thru the narrow, upper slot in the front of the PCM case, where they will need to mate with the display panel. I belive the cables should be routed thru the lower, larger rectangular opening, where they will directly align with the connectors on the display panel that they plug into. That is what I did. (2) The large inline quadlock connector that connects to the car’s original PCM connector is difficult to find a home for behind the PCM due to such limited space. Other Planet 9 forum members were able to push it to the back and left into a space closer to the steering column, but in my car, that space was just too narrow. After much inspection, I found the back edge of the plastic PCM mounting box had a tab (about 1.5″ high and 3/8″ wide) that was the blockage. The tab appeared to serve no purpose so I cut it off carefully with a dremel, and then the quadlock slid right thru and was out of the way enough to slide the PCM fully into place. I suspect the tab might have a purpose on other models where the same mounting box is used, but not on the 981.

Installed in the 2014 981 S, install went smooth and after a few drives getting used to the shift between original PCCM and CarPlay works great. Also installed the back up camera in this car and my 2012 911.1 S [which already had the GTA installed], works fantastic. Def a must if doing GTA CarPlay install.
Highly recommend getting their tool kit!! I used on the three cars I had the GTA kits installed in.
