Wireless CarPlay and AndroidAuto Integration for Porsche 911 2012-2016

Excellent product, works exactly as described. Straight forward installation- supplied instructions work well. I would recommend to have a friend helping you when installing the head unit back on the central console, just to make sure nothing is scratched. GTA guys are very supportive- they worked with me when I had few questions, I received their responses in no time! Considering that my purchase fell on the dates when those U.S. tariffs imposed by Trump administration, I had to deal with UPS overcharging me - Maurizio was very helpful navigating me thorough the process.

Installed car kit for 2014 991.1. Despite getting a couple of installers referred by Maurizio for the Los Angeles area, went ahead with self-install after watching the video. Other than mentioned from other reviews there’s only one antenna wire, the process went pretty much as the video suggested. Some lessons learned: likely given car is 11 years old, the side console panels are difficult to remove, particularly the front section. On one side while removing the piece, perhaps it was pulled too much to the side vs pulled straight back, the retaining hook clip towards the front snapped off and had to be krazy-glued back before reinstall. No audio post install and a big thanks to Lex who responded to emails during Sat/Sun and after 3 exchanges, turned out the orange fiber optic cable needed to be transferred to the new wiring plug. As mentioned by others the wiring harness is challenging to work through behind the unit so it seats back properly. Not sure what did the trick after multiple trial and error sliding unit in/out repeatedly. A minor point mentioned on the wiring diagram, but easy to miss, hold the Info button on the unit to get the CarPlay menu screen if unit was switched to FM or other non CarPlay functions. Although over multiple sessions, overall it probably took a couple of elapsed hours working slowly. Very happy with unit and excellent support from GTA car kits!

Installed the kit in my 2013 911S Cabriolet. My car had an added 'wrinkle' because there was another company's aftermarket rear view camera kit already installed. That kit, including an extra board inside the head unit and a separate controller underneath the dash, had to come out before I could install the GTA Carkit. I got solid tech support from GTA, via email and on the phone, and the old camera now works with the new GTA Carkit. I had two challenges to my install, aside from ripping out the other company's stuff. First, putting the head unit back into the dash after installing the new cables and connectors was difficult. I needed my wife's help, and her small hands, to keep everything pushed to the back while inserting the unit. It took several tries, but everything is in and works as advertised. The second challenge was that I didn't know the Burmester system in my car uses fiber optic audio. The first time I fired the unit up, everything appeared to work, but there was no sound. GTA solved that for me and pointed me to another video showing me what to do. That 'fix' was easy and everything is working great. As an added bonus, the directional lines in my rear view camera bend now. They didn't with the other company's kit. It took some time and effort, but I'm very satisfied with the result.

April 5, 2025 A very convenient upgrade as it enables carplay in an efficient and seamless integration. The final look is as before so no change to the initial design. Just one comment, if you are not skilled and meticulous, it is better to hav ethe product installed as it is far from obvious even though the installation video helps a lot. I had to figure out why I initially had no image. The white stripes weren't sufficiently inserted and locked. The antenna described as 2 twires are only one now and it takes a bit of time to properly connect with tweezers. And finally I had no audio as I discovered on rennlist website that it requires a specific additionnal operation to connect the audio. I suggest a detailed printed instruction and a troubleshoot guide to be added to this wonderful add-on

Decided to do this when the wife was out of town, glad I did, she would have freaked seeing her new Porsche interior pulled apart😉 Kit was shipped quickly and nice packaging. The installation video was very helpful, but a few things I learned: - Separating the radio was difficult, there is a piece of white tape on one side that you have to slice before opening it. Also, getting leverage on the side locks (used 2 small flat head screw drivers) and pushing the top off was not easy. - Make sure the new white cables are fully seated, even being a bit off caused issues and I had to do this twice (user error). - There is only 1 antenna now, not 2 which was listed when I bought the kit. - I had to zip tie the cables in the back of the radio to get it pushed in far enough. - The installation kit add-on was money well spent. - Once installed and working, you hold the “Info” button to get back to CarPlay if you select something else on the radio like FM. - The steering wheel button won’t start Siri. - Your phones WiFi will show as disabled, GTA says it’s still on in the background, not sure if that’s possible, so GPS mapping may not be as accurate, not sure how to confirm. CarPlay works great, very happy with the upgrade, I have some friends who are considering adding it to their older 911’s.

Simple to install. I love the fact this is all self contained inside the radio head unit, without the need for additional hardware, like some other kits. Installation took us about an hour, and all was straight forward. We had one question during off hours and received a response within the hour. Many thanks.

Installed in a 2014 Carrera S- I really can’t say enough about the great customer service with email communication from Vitaliy and Maurizio! I had issues with missing sound but they referred me to another video where the optic audio cables were removed from original harness to the new harness. Unfortunately I broke a piece of plastic from one of the ribbon cable retaining clips, and was panicked that the part was nowhere to be found despite googling so many sites. GTA guys provided me with a replacement clip for free! Now everything works as it should and could not be happier with the upgrade!

What a great update for my 2013 Porsche 991.1 Really brings it up to date as there are no recent updates for the OEM navigation maps. Now with Android auto it really rocks !!!! Great product and tech support. Would recommend to anyone wanting to upgrade.

Works great! Seems like a better implementation than the factory CarPlay in my other cars. I routed the USB cable to the storage under the armrest. The YouTube video showed two antennas, but the latest version seems to combine them to one antenna. Very happy with it.

Works as described. Key is remember the optical cable flip from the original harness to the bridging harness. This is true for all bose+ PCMs. Had some issues to get the cables connected into the head unit but everything works perfect. Sound quality is great. PDC and oem backup camera works. Huge upgrade!!

This kit works better than the factory solutions I have in my other cars. Wireless AirPlay works perfectly. Installation was very straightforward, and followed the instructions on the video to the letter. No surprises at all, which is exactly what you want when taking apart the dash of your 911! I had a small question after the install, and the team answered it quickly. I will consider any of their kits in the future - the hardware, software and support are all excellent.

Installed in 2014 911 Turbo. Entire process was easy and spot on. Placed the order on a Saturday evening and received the shipment on Tuesday or Wednesday. Popped open the above video tutorial, followed step by step and everything fired right up with one glitch that I had no audio sound. I sent off an email to info@gtacarkits.com at 1:24pm on a SATURDAY and literally 2 minutes later at 1:26 had a reply with a solution and video to the issue. Easy fix. Followed the new instructions and all works perfectly. Buttoned up the install and loving the new tech. I took my time, and the entire install was under 4 hours start to finish. For the price if you don't have one grab a trim kit (I did) ... makes the job easy and nice to have.

Just installed Carplay system in my 2012 Porsche 911s. This is a very nice system. I love the compactness. The installation video is useful and I knew what to expect except for a couple of minor curve balls. My car has the SAT radio system and the board installation was tight, but it worked. I also had fiber optics to transfer from my old harness. It took about 4 hrs to install and it worked on the first startup. I had some issues getting my AUX activated, but just needed to refer to the owners manual. It works very well- no issues. The moving gridlines for the backup camera are awesome as well as a the graphics for the backup sensors. Overall, this kit exceeded expectations. Please develop one for my 2008 Cayenne GTS!

Great product and works great. Installed in my 2014 911 Targa 4s along with a rear view camera. Strongly recommend this to others seeking to modernize their cars/vehicles without changing the original look. Love having CarPlay and its flexibility and look in my Porsche. Great product. Shipped quick, got it quick. Install is a breeze if you follow the instructions from the video. I did not and had a minor issue and these folks, without making me feel like a complete failure….let me know what I needed to do and BAM. So, first of all, the product is 100% absolutely great! Takes your factory radio head to the next level without having to put an after market radio head. And when you have a car where it counts to keep it as original as possible, having this option is a "must have". And it works, 100% wonderful. But, these people at GTA Car Kits are the best. I had a problem with the install; the problem was mine to own. I didn't connect the harness connector tight enough so duh!!! I received exemplary support from GTA and as a result, my installation was a success and also, I didn't lose my mind trying to figure out what the heck was wrong (a little installation humor there). These guys are good. This product is amazing. Buy it. Get it. Do it!!!!
