  • I just installed this product in my 2005 Prius with basic OEM radio. As one of the above reviewers I went by the glove box approach. It was fairly easy but took more than 5 minutes. I removed the lower glovebox and the grey vent unit to the left of the glovebox. Neither requires tools. There is a large white wire block in your way which must be unscrewed before you can reach your hand behind the radio. There is a large Phillips-head screw at the top of the wire block that screws into a large tube. Once unscrewed you can get the device free and moved forward. With a small to medium sized hand you can get your hand behind the radio and plug the connector in blindly; refer to a picture of the back of the radio from a picture on the Internet. I tucked the GTA device behind the grey vent unit (above the 12volt outlet) and ran the wires out the bottom. So far looks and works great.

  • I ordered the Car Kit and Bluetooth extension for my 2006 Mazda 6 (auto) on Tuesday (23 Sep) and had both in my hands on Friday (26 Sep). I installed both upon receipt and it only took 1 hour! I believe it would have been faster if I opted to run the cables into the glove box, however I elected to run both the aux and iPod cables into the armrest instead.

I did not want to knockout the plastic vent area at the bottom of the armrest under the felt padding because I wanted the padding to continue to lay flat. So I drilled a small hole just above that area slightly to the right in order to pull the cables through. In order to ensure that I allowed sufficient slack, I mounted the car kit module near the gear selector (plenty of space in this area). Everything installed and works as stated. The Bluetooth is very nice and the music sounds incredible!! The video was EXTREAMLY HELPFUL!!

Quality products, fast shipping, and excellent customer service!!

  • My wife wanted bluetooth functionality added to her 2011 Camry without changing the look of the factory installed entertainment centre.
We went to a number of installation and car stereo sales and installation stores [including Toyota] and were told that short of replacing the whole console they didn’t have anything that they could sell us at a reasonable cost.

I then went online and found GTA Car Kits, and they seemed to have just what we needed. A retrofit kit that would add iPhone and line input functionality to the Camry as well as add bluetooth capability to the existing entertainment console. While viewing the online claims I found YouTube videos showing how to install the units in the Camry as well as how to open up and easily remove the panels to run the wires and connectors for the system. I ordered the 2 necessary Car Kits as well as a panel removal tool kit and waited for delivery.

Once the packages arrived I was able to install and test the system within an afternoon. Using just a phillips screwdriver, the panel removal tools, a socket wrench with extender, a pocket drill, and zip ties the installation came off without a hitch. An easy installation and a positive outcome for just the price of the kits and a small investment in panel removal tools which I’ve already found other uses for [hot tub repair].

  • I completely recommend this product to anyone who is looking for a way to keep their stock radio but still have the benefits of iPhone connectivity. The customer service is unmatched. I can not stress that enough. They will go above and beyond what they need to do to make sure that their customers are satisfied. The product works great, and the video does a great job of giving you an overview of just how to install it. I was able to do it within an hours’ time, and I wired it through he glove back for a seamless look.

  • I have a 2003 Camry. I bought this kit, watched the video, and installed it. Pretty much just like the video said, except for my car I needed to used the harness adapter that was supplied with the kit. The installation was seamless, just like the video said.

Now I have an Aux jack for my phone and I am a happy camper! Thank you GTA!!!

  • If you are considering this…just get it…stop considering and go for it. I bought a used 2001 MDX and was using the very nice Bose stereo with a cassette adapter…horrible!

Just installed the kit with the Bluetooth extension. Took me about 1 hr to do the whole job. Not that hard. Hardest part was getting the microphone into the A-piller. Still not that hard. MDX has lot of open space under the steering wheel Didn’t even have to pull those panels.

I wasted a lot of time trying to upgrade my system. Checking out stereos @ best buy and install options etc…This is by far the easiest and best option. It integrates PERFECTLY with the OEM stereo and navigation system. Tried, iOS, Android, Music, Google Maps, YouTube, even watching movies…all worked perfectly through Bluetooth.

Also, it’s super helpful that the video explain the install so you are not surprised. Just note that if you have a 2001 model year you do not need the Y cable.

Very happy and already promoting to friends with MDX/Pilot 🙂
