General FAQ
Many customers install our kits themselves using our real step by step installation videos filmed on the exact vehicles we support.
If you prefer professional installation, most local car audio or car stereo shops can install our products as well.
We are always building a list of trusted installers, primarily based in the U.S. Please email info@gtacarkits.com with your postal code for current recommendations in your area.
We offer a dealer program specifically for established car audio and stereo businesses that are verified and experienced.

No. Our kit is non invasive and does not modify your vehicle's factory software or wiring. Most customers continue to receive warranty service without any issues, and many dealerships even refer customers to us.
You only need to remove the kit if you are having an audio or infotainment system issue and are taking the car in for warranty service, just to avoid any confusion.
Our kits are engineered and tested for each specific vehicle, using verified components and stable software, not generic boards with unknown parts. We create real installation videos filmed on the exact cars we support, so you can see the actual product working in your vehicle before you order.
The cheaper options may look similar, but they are often untested, come with no warranty, and leave you on your own if something goes wrong. That can mean wasted hours, frustration, and more money spent replacing faulty parts.
Our kits are backed by a 1 year warranty, responsive support from our North American team, and are often less expensive than other U.S. brands while offering top quality products. Even dealerships trust our kits and refer their customers to us because they know they will work reliably the first time.
You are not just paying for hardware. You are paying for peace of mind, knowing it will work right and be supported if you need help.
Our products are designed by GTA Car Kits and manufactured by our trusted partners in China and Taiwan, under our strict specifications and quality control. Every unit is tested before shipping.

CarPlay/Android Auto Technical FAQ
This issue is usually related to the video cable connections during installation, or a blown fuse on the main harness of the module. Because this can vary by vehicle, please contact GTA Car Kits support so we can guide you based on your specific car.
If you are not getting sound on AM/FM or CD sources, it usually means your vehicle uses a fiber optic cable in the factory harness. This cable must be transferred from the original harness to our harness.
If AM/FM/CD all work fine, but there is no sound from CarPlay/Android Auto, your phone is likely not paired with the car's original Bluetooth. Pair your phone with the factory Bluetooth, then select the Bluetooth audio source in your car to hear sound from CarPlay/Android Auto.
This happens when the phone is not paired with the car's original Bluetooth. Pair your phone back to the vehicle's factory Bluetooth, then select it as the audio source. After that, CarPlay/Android Auto audio will play through the car speakers.
This can happen for two reasons:
- On modules with DIP switch settings, the switches may be set incorrectly for your car.
- On kits with ribbon cable connections, the cables may not be connected properly during installation.
Since this depends on the vehicle, please contact GTA Car Kits support so we can guide you based on your specific car.
You do not need to enter a Wi-Fi password. The connection should be made via Bluetooth. Once paired over Bluetooth, your phone will automatically switch to Wi-Fi for CarPlay/Android Auto. No manual password entry is required.
- Original camera – Automatic Transmission cars: Make sure all doors are closed and the parking brake is off while testing. If still no image, go to Kit Settings -> Advanced Features -> Aftermarket | Original Camera, and set this option to ON.
- Original camera – Manual Transmission cars: A trigger wire must be connected from the reverse bulb's 12V signal. Otherwise, you'll need to manually exit CarPlay/Android Auto to view the camera feed.
- Aftermarket camera – Automatic Transmission cars: Go to Kit Settings -> Advanced Features -> Aftermarket | Original Camera, and set this option to OFF. If the camera still doesn't work, it is likely a wiring issue. Contact GTA Car Kits support.
- Aftermarket camera – Manual Transmission cars: Go to Kit Settings -> Advanced Features -> Aftermarket | Original Camera, and set this option to OFF. If the camera still doesn't work, the taillight harness must be tapped for a 12V reverse bulb signal. Contact GTA Car Kits support for further guidance.
Yes, this is normal. Bluetooth is only used for the initial setup. Once wireless CarPlay/Android Auto is connected, your phone switches to Wi-Fi for data transfer. That's why Bluetooth will no longer appear as actively connected.
This means the cable being used is charge-only and does not support data transfer. Please try another cable that supports both charging and data.
Yes, you can. While your car is on the original FM, AM, or CD source, you can still access CarPlay or Android Auto and use it visually, for example by browsing apps or viewing maps. However, audio from CarPlay or Android Auto such as turn-by-turn directions or music will not play, because the system is locked to the FM, AM, or CD source. To hear CarPlay or Android Auto audio, switch your car's audio source to Bluetooth or AUX, which is the channel our kit uses for sound.
AUX/iPod/Bluetooth Technical FAQ
The module works with most modern iPhone and Android phones that support standard Bluetooth profiles for calls and music. No special app is required.
- Turn the car on and set the radio to the input the kit uses, usually Bluetooth or AUX.
- Open Bluetooth settings on your phone and search for new devices.
- Select the GTA device name, accept the pairing prompt, and allow contacts if asked for caller ID.
After pairing, the phone reconnects automatically when you start the car.
- Verify the radio is on the correct audio source, usually the radio needs to be set to an external CD Changer mode (CD1, CD4, EX).
- In your phone Bluetooth settings, make sure media audio is enabled for the GTA device.
- Raise the phone volume and the car volume. Some phones keep separate call and media volumes.
Mount the mic near the instrument cluster or headliner, away from air vents. Aim it toward the driver. Secure the wire so it does not rub on trim. If callers hear echo, lower the car volume a little and move the mic slightly farther from the speakers.
You can pair multiple phones and the last connected phone becomes active when the car starts. To use another phone, disconnect the current phone or select the GTA device from the other phone and it will take priority.
Auto play behavior is controlled by the phone media app and phone settings. Open your music app and turn off auto play or start on launch. If your phone offers a setting to allow the car to start playback, disable it there.
On your phone, remove the GTA device from the Bluetooth devices list. Then power cycle the car. Pair again as a new device. If the module pairing memory is full, a full power cycle of the kit clears old connections.
Bluetooth audio has a small delay compared to a wired connection. This is normal for video playback. For the lowest delay, use a wired connection when available.
Check your car model year and radio type, for example with or without navigation or premium audio. Compare the back of your radio and connector style with the photos on the product page. If you are unsure, send us your VIN and a clear photo of the radio connectors and we will confirm.
The kit uses a plug and play harness on most vehicles, so no splicing is needed. Coding is not required. Some vehicles with manual transmission need a simple reverse light trigger if you want the camera to switch automatically.
Factory radio functions remain available. Steering wheel controls continue to operate. If your car has an external CD changer, it is usually disabled because that port is used by the kit. Satellite radio varies by vehicle, see the vehicle page for details.
Turn the ignition off and open the driver door to power the radio down. Wait at least sixty seconds. Turn ignition back on. If the issue remains, disconnect the kit power connector for a full power cycle, then reconnect. If you still need help, contact support with your car model and a short video of the issue.
